How many alarms do you set to wake up from a deep sleep? Some of us set multiple alarms to avoid any risks. But have you ever wondered, how many alarms are too many? I never gave it a thought, honestly. That was until I came across a Reddit post.
Samsung answers how many alarms are too many. The answer is 100!
Now I know two things, at least, about alarms. One is the number of alarms you can set on your Samsung Galaxy device, the other is I’d be very pissed if someone even set half of the total limit on my Galaxy.
Reddit user Sernian (via Android Authority) posted a rather unsurprising fact. According to their post, you can’t add more than 100 alarms on your Samsung Galaxy device. But why would you want to even roam around that figure unless you’re living under the water or drugged yourself to sleep?
Still, the fact that there’s a hard cap — 100 alarms — is both amusing and oddly frustrating. Like, who knew we needed a limit? Turns out, Samsung’s Clock app has had this restriction in place for years, though it was previously just 50 alarms back in 2019. So in a weird way, we should probably be grateful? Yeah, no.
According to Android Authority, Samsung likely put this ceiling in place for system performance reasons. It makes sense on a technical level, keeping background alarms in memory, especially if they’re repeating or attached to notifications, can add up. But come on, it’s 2025 and people are using their phones for everything. If someone wants to set 101 alarms because they work night shifts, or just really fear oversleeping, let them live.
