Health Connect Notifications Are Now Showing Up on Galaxy Phones

If you wear a Galaxy Watch, you usually rely on the Samsung Health app to track your sleep, exercise, heart rate, and more. But did you know you can connect the app with Google’s Health Connect platform? Well, the Mountain View company is now pushing notifications to encourage users to set up its service on their Android devices, including Galaxy phones.
Health Connect combines data from several health and fitness apps
Debuted in 2022, Health Connect is an Android service that works as a central hub for health data. It combines data from several health and fitness apps like Samsung Health and Fitbit and displays them in one place. This is mainly helpful if you own multiple devices from different brands and want to track their health data in a single place.
As of now, most people are not aware of Health Connect because it doesn’t show up during phone setup. Moreover, the option to connect apps remains hidden in the settings, making it easy to miss. Now, Google wants to familiarize the platform and, hence, recently began sending notifications to Android users.
As you can see in the screenshot below, the notification arrived with the title “See your health data across apps”. The description reads, “Health Connect lets you share fitness and wellness data between your apps. See which apps you can connect now”. When you tap the notification, it opens the Health Connect app, inviting you to begin setup. It will let you connect Samsung Health and any other supported apps installed on your device.
If you haven’t received the notification on your Galaxy phone yet, you can head over to Settings > Security and Privacy. From there, tap More privacy settings, and you will see the Health Connect option. Google is working on adding native step tracking support to its health data platform. So, promoting its service through notifications makes sense, as it may help get more people on board.
