We weren’t kidding when we said the Galaxy S25 Ultra is the best Android phone on the market. And yes, there are a bunch of reasons to support that statement. It packs the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Elite for Galaxy, paired with a quad-camera system on the rear (200MP wide + 10MP telephoto + 50MP periscope telephoto + 50MP ultrawide). When we reviewed it, we called it a “Top Performer with Unmatched AI Power.” And now, Google seems to be proving just how powerful it really is.
Google keeps Galaxy S25 Ultra at the centre while teasing Gemini Live capabilities
Earlier today, Google hosted The Android Show: I/O Edition, where several upcoming features and tools were highlighted. While talking about Gemini Live, Android’s Senior Product Manager, Rohan Shah, showed off the Galaxy S25 Ultra during a live demo. Gemini has come a long way, and now, Gemini Live’s capabilities are genuinely impressive.
Shah demonstrates how Gemini Live can read what’s on your screen when activated. You can just talk to it like a real assistant. In the demo, Gemini Live reads his long, detailed schedule for the day — packed with meetings and sessions — and when he asks about lunch, Gemini immediately finds a suitable slot and responds in real time.
In another example, Shah points the phone at something in front of him and asks Gemini what it is. Just like that, the assistant identifies what’s on the screen. That’s the level of context-aware smarts Gemini Live is bringing. Gemini Live is available for Android users starting now. You don’t need to be subscribed to use it, Shah confirmed during the show.
Earlier, at the beginning of the video, Android Ecosystem President Sameer Samat talked about the Galaxy S25 Edge. He said it’s “going to change everything.” According to Samat, “The Galaxy S25 Edge is one of the thinnest, most capable smartphones ever built.”
