Google Pixel 10 Series to Launch in August, Tensor G5 Details Leaked Early
Google’s Pixel 10 series is hardly a secret. Some juicy details have already surfaced, including a real-life image spotted during an ad promo shoot in Vancouver just a few days ago. What’s well-known is that the Pixel 10 lineup will include the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Yes, competition for the Galaxy S25 series is heating up. Adding to earlier leaks, we now have fresh info on the Pixel 10 series release date, along with details about the Tensor G5 processor.
Google Pixel 10 series release date out, might come on August 28
The fine folks over at Android Headlines have obtained “exclusive” information. According to which, the Pixel 10 series will launch on August 20 at the Made by Google event. The publication also confirms that the phones will hit retail shelves starting August 28. That means Google is once again releasing the new Pixel lineup in August, not October.
But wait, there’s more. Earlier today, images of a Pixel 10 Pro prototype also surfaced. Shared by Mystic Leaks (via Android Authority), the photos confirm the upcoming Tensor G5 chip. Notably, these are the first Tensor chips in a while to be manufactured by TSMC instead of Samsung. Apparently, Google has also parted ways with Samsung, signing a deal with TSMC for the next three to five years.
Tensor G5 chip details leak months before debut
Google’s Tensor G5 chip, codenamed “Blazer,” comes with the following core configuration: 2x Cortex-A520, 3x Cortex-A725, 2x Cortex-A725, and 1x Cortex-X4. The app lists a 5nm process for the chip, though this may be an error. Because Tensor G5 is expected to use a 3nm process. Additional details reveal the phone will feature 16GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and run a non-QPR1 version of Android 16.
Visually, the design looks nearly identical to the previously leaked renders. We’ll have to see how the Pixel 10 series stacks up against the Galaxy S25 lineup. But our real attention will be on how the Pixel 10 Pro Fold competes against the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Rumor has it, the latter will be surprisingly slim, while word is, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold won’t focus much on slimness. It’ll definitely be an interesting showdown between the two.
