Google Meet’s New AI Makeup Feature Enhances Your Look on Video Calls

Do you want to enhance your look before starting a video call on Google Meet? Well, you can do that with the newly released AI-powered makeup feature. This tool will let you apply virtual makeup so you look confident on camera. The company is gradually rolling out this feature on both mobile and web platforms.
Google Meet introduces a new AI-powered makeup feature
For the uninitiated, Google Meet lets you have virtual meetings using video, audio, and screen sharing. The platform comes in handy when in-person meetings are not feasible for both business and personal purposes. Thanks to the Portrait Touch-up feature, you can lightly touch up your appearance before or during a video call. There are two modes to choose from: Subtle and Smoothing. The former provides very light smoothing of your complexion, while the latter offers a slightly stronger effect.
While both modes already enhance your look, the new AI-powered makeup feature takes it to the next level. It allows you to apply virtual foundation, lipstick, and other subtle makeup touches during a call. The AI adapts the style to your face, making it look natural rather than applying like a filter. The best thing is that even through everyday movements like sipping your coffee or touching your face, the makeup stays in place.

Note that you need to turn on the makeup feature manually, as it is disabled by default. Once you enable it, you can choose from 12 new studio makeup looks. The options range from a polished, professional touch to a more expressive flair. Once you select a look, the system saves it for your next video call, so you don’t have to reapply it each time.
Google began rolling out the AI-powered makeup feature on October 8, but it may take a few days or weeks to reach every account. The feature is available to Google Workspace subscribers like Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Essentials, and more.
