Today’s quite a big day for everyone who’s been waiting to catch the first official glimpse of Samsung’s trifold device. Luckily, we’ve just had our first look at what could become Samsung’s first tri-fold model. Whether it’ll be called the Galaxy G Fold, Galaxy Z TriFold or something else remains to be seen. One thing’s certain though, Samsung’s determined to launch it before the year ends, and even Google’s buzzing with excitement.

Google app contains references to Samsung TriFold 2025

Android Authority, while digging through the Google app (version 16.43.60.sa.arm64), found some clues related to Samsung’s upcoming tri-fold foldable. The publication says the code strings reveal updates to its internal list that tracks devices eligible for free Gemini promotions. As expected, some familiar names appear on the list, including this promo.

Interestingly, the term “Trifold” shows up, though the absence of “Galaxy Z” probably isn’t a big deal, since it’s also missing for other Samsung models. Mentions of “2025” suggest Samsung could begin sales sooner rather than later. Still, the publication notes that since this internal list isn’t meant for public use, none of these details are final, so both timing and branding remain uncertain.

The US launch seems unlikely

Tipster Evan Blass has suggested that Samsung isn’t likely to bring the upcoming tri-fold foldable to the US. He believes the launch will be limited to certain regions such as Korea, the greater Chinese market including Singapore and Taiwan, and possibly the UAE.

It’s disappointing news for everyone who’s been waiting for Samsung to officially unveil the Galaxy Tri-Fold, or perhaps the Galaxy Z TriFold. For now, all anyone can do is wait. According to leaked specs, the tri-fold could feature a 10-inch main screen and a 6.49-inch cover display. Under the hood, it’s expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor paired with 12GB of RAM.
