The fine folks over at Android Authority cracked open Google Drive app v2.25.190.0.all.alldpi, revealing some interesting clues. What we know is that Google Drive will soon receive a Material 3 Expressive design update, meaning a bit of an overhaul. The publication also shared how it might look once the redesigned Google Drive rolls out.
At first glance, you’ll notice the icon sizes have been increased to better align with their associated labels, making the layout feel more intuitive. The view toggle now more clearly distinguishes between grid and list formats, helping users understand its function at a glance. Additionally, the floating action button has been refreshed with a more vibrant color, adding a slight but noticeable visual enhancement.
What we may have failed to notice, but the publication helpfully points out, is the Gemini logo at the top. The search bar has been expanded and now includes a Gemini logo, visually separating it from surrounding elements. The hamburger menu and account switcher are now spaced on either side, creating a more balanced and modern appearance.
