The next software update for the Galaxy A26, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy A56 will allow users to launch Google Gemini directly from the power button — a shortcut currently exclusive to flagships.

Starting with One UI 7, Samsung flagships let users remap the power button to launch Google Gemini instead of Bixby. The Korean firm now plans to bring this convenience to budget models, making AI access more seamless. With this feature, users can press and hold the power button to instantly summon Gemini, Google’s generative AI assistant, as long as it’s supported on their devices.
The goal is to make AI tools more accessible and woven into daily use. The Galaxy A56 and other recent Galaxy A models already support some AI features thanks to the introduction of Awesome Intelligence. The Gemini shortcut on the power button further enhances the AI experience for users.
