Google wants its Gemini users to take advantage of most of its features for free. The company now makes its Gemini Live’s screen-sharing and camera capabilities free for all Android users. Yes, you heard that right. Now you don’t need to be a Gemini Advanced subscriber. These features are now rolling out, but it will take a few weeks to land on your device.

Last month, Google made Gemini Live’s Astra camera and screen-sharing capabilities available to Advanced subscribers. Samsung Galaxy S25 users were able to enjoy these features for free as the company bundled a Gemini Advanced subscription with each new purchase. Today, Google has confirmed to 9to5Google that it is removing the paywall completely and said screen-sharing and camera capabilities will be fully available to Android users over the coming weeks.
Google also posted about this on its X handle, @GeminiApp, saying, “We’ve been hearing great feedback on Gemini Live with camera and screen share, so we decided to bring it to more people. Starting today and over the coming weeks, we’re rolling it out to *all* @Android users with the Gemini app. Enjoy.”
Now, within your Gemini Live conversation, you can share your phone camera or screen, allowing you to show Gemini what you see. For example, you can take a real-time video of your surroundings and ask questions like what to wear for a particular event. This allows Gemini to share detailed recommendations with you.
Speaking of the screen-sharing capabilities, Gemini Live lets you get contextual answers during your conversation. This is particularly useful during online shopping and selecting the perfect gift idea. You just have to talk to Gemini while scrolling.
The good news is that these capabilities don’t require high-end hardware — they will run on Android devices with 2 GB of RAM or more, running Android 10 or above. As Google is gradually rolling out Gemini Live’s screen-sharing and camera capabilities, you may need to wait a few days or weeks to experience all of these features.
