Google is making its AI assistant, Gemini, more organized. The company has begun rolling out a new Labs section in the Gemini web app, letting users access experimental features in an easy-to-use way. The new section should reach all users, both free and premium, in the coming weeks.

Through Google Labs and Search Labs, the company offers users early access to features in development. The new Gemini Labs follows the same idea, adding several experimental AI tools. In recent years, Gemini has introduced a host of new features, so organizing them has become necessary to make the app easier to navigate.

Previously, the Tools menu in the Gemini web app featured tools in a single long list. It displayed up to eight items depending on the user’s subscription. This created confusion in identifying stable and experimental features. As spotted by 9to5Google, the new update separates the menu into two sections: Tools and Experimental features (Labs).

As you can see in the images, the Tools section includes stable features such as Deep Research, Create videos, Create images, Canvas, Guided Learning, and Deep Think. Note that some tools, like Create Videos and Deep Think, are part of paid subscriptions, meaning free users will not see them.

Now, coming to the Experimental features section (this area shows a small lab beaker icon), we see tools that are still in development. For example, Pro subscribers will see Agent, Dynamic view, and Personal Intelligence, while Visual layout is available to all users. Personal Intelligence allows Gemini to access information from connected apps to deliver personalized responses. This setting applies only to the current conversation and re-enables automatically for a new chat.

However, the Labs section has not yet reached Gemini mobile app users. It should only be a matter of time before Google rolls it out across all platforms.
