Earlier today, Samsung published its Q1 2025 earnings report, revealing impressive figures following a poor 2024. The company also shared its outlook for the rest of the year, and it’s safe to say that it sees AI as integral to all its mobile innovations. The Korean firm isn’t stopping at flagships, with AI upgrades planned for budget and midrange phones as well. It recently revealed the full list of Galaxy A devices getting the Gemini shortcut on the power button.

These Galaxy A models will get deeper Gemini integration

While Samsung has its own Bixby AI assistant, the company is ditching it in favor of Google’s Gemini. Bixby exists, but Gemini is taking its place on Galaxy devices. Starting with One UI 7, Samsung allows users to remap the power button to launch Gemini instead of Bixby. This function is currently limited to flagship models, but will soon extend to budget and midrange devices.

According to Samsung, this Gemini shortcut on the power button will be available for the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55, Galaxy A54, Galaxy A36, Galaxy A35, Galaxy A34, Galaxy A26, Galaxy A25, Galaxy A25e, and Galaxy A24. As mentioned above, this function requires One UI 7, so it won’t roll out to these phones until the big feature arrives. Samsung says the rollout begins in early May, though it didn’t provide a release date.

Well, the Galaxy A56, A36, and A26 shipped with One UI 7, so users of these devices should receive the Gemini shortcut with a smaller update. Other devices must wait until One UI 7 arrives. Depending on the model and region, it may take until June or July for the update to reach all eligible units worldwide. We will let you know when the rollout begins.

“Samsung and Google have been working together to deliver intuitive and meaningful AI experiences, making the latest technology more accessible to more users,” said Jay Kim, an Executive Vice President at Samsung. “We’re thrilled that Galaxy A series users will now be able to activate Gemini faster and more naturally through a simple gesture that brings intelligent support to the flow of daily tasks.”
