First Galaxy Z Wide Fold Details Are Here

Samsung is widely (pun intended) expected to launch three foldables in 2026. These will likely be the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Flip 8, and Z Wide Fold (tentative name). Details about these devices are already starting to surface. They won’t be official for a few more months, but some key details about the Galaxy Z Wide Fold has now emerged.
Galaxy Z Wide Fold’s screen size, battery, chipset details revealed early
Popular tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the screen size, battery capacity, and chipset details of the Galaxy Z Wide Fold. According to the leak, the device’s inner display will measure 7.6 inches. That puts it in familiar territory, but the aspect ratio could play a key role, potentially landing at 4:3 or around 16:10.

Accordingly, the Z Wide Fold will feature a dual-cell battery system rated at 4,660mAh. The split configuration will be 2,267mAh and 2,393mAh cells, while the typical capacity is reportedly around 4,800mAh. That would be a noticeable upgrade over the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and even the leaked capacity of the Galaxy Z Flip 8.
Best of all, the Z Wide Fold could run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, the same chipset as the Galaxy S26 series. If accurate, it suggests Samsung won’t treat the Wide Fold differently from its main foldables. What remains unclear, however, is whether the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will power the device in all regions or only a select few.
As mentioned earlier, the device is still months away from its debut. It will be interesting to see how the Galaxy Z Wide Fold feels in hand and in everyday use compared to the Z Fold 8. The leak only reveals part of the picture, and key details such as the camera setup remain unknown. For now, it’s best to wait.
