Your Chance to Buy the Galaxy Z TriFold in the US Might Be Running Out

Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold finally made it to the US in January, roughly eight weeks after its debut in Korea. But even after launching in the US, availability has been hit or miss. It’s usually sold out within minutes of going live online, and there aren’t any alternative retailers (e.g., Best Buy or Amazon) where you can pick one up.
Samsung may soon pull the plug on Galaxy Z TriFold sales in the US
For something that costs $2,899 before taxes, you wouldn’t normally expect it to sell like hotcakes. So it’s quite plausible that Samsung simply didn’t make many trifold units, which is what earlier reports suggested as well. Put simply, Samsung reportedly produced fewer TriFold units than it did for the original Fold.

As it turns out, Samsung is planning to end Galaxy Z TriFold sales in Korea, reports local outlet Donga. There’s one more restock coming to its home market this week, after which it won’t be available to buy anymore. For those eyeing the Galaxy Z TriFold in the US, the report says it’ll remain available until existing stock sells out. So there could still be one or more restocks.
Again, none of this is particularly surprising, given what seems to be brewing inside Samsung’s mobile division. Things are pretty rough, and the ongoing RAM shortage has hurt profits badly. In fact, Samsung MX is expected to post its first operating loss. That gives you a sense of how serious things have gotten.
You might want to take one of your last shots at getting the Galaxy Z TriFold, for which you can sign up here. Just a quick PSA: importing one from Korea is a terrible idea. Potential network compatibility issues are one thing, and missing out on the 50% discount for the first screen module replacement is another.
