Galaxy Z Fold 8 Leak Spills Key Specs Months Ahead of Launch

Samsung’s 2026 foldable plans aren’t much of a secret, with the company expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Wide Fold, and Galaxy Z Flip 8. These devices are still months away from debut, but a tipster may have already spilled the beans on the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s key specs.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 key specs break cover, 5,000mAh battery likely
A tipster on X @TheGalox_ has shared what could be the key specs of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. According to the leak, the device will keep the same screen sizes as the Galaxy Z Fold 7, with a 6.5-inch cover display and an 8-inch main inner display.
It’s could feature a reinforced display structure built around dual-layer ultra-thin glass (UTG), paired with a precision laser-drilled metal support plate. The tipster adds that it’ll be thinner and lighter, though exactly how much remains unclear for now.
On the imaging front, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 may include a 200MP primary sensor (1/1.3-inch), alongside a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Under the hood, it will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, possibly with improved vapor chamber cooling.
Storage options will likely remain the same, including 256GB with 12GB RAM, 512GB, and 1TB with 16GB RAM. The current Galaxy Z Fold 7 packs a 4,400mAh battery with 25W wired charging, so the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could bring upgrades in these areas.
Based on the leak, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 may feature a 5,000mAh battery and support 45W wired charging. A 3C regulatory filing we spotted backs this up, confirming 45W charging support. That would be a significant upgrade, as Samsung hasn’t increased wired charging speeds on its foldables since 2020.
