Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Wide Fold Charging Speeds Revealed

It’s no secret that Samsung is working on three foldables set to launch at its summer Unpacked event. Unlike last year, Samsung will offer a wider Galaxy Z Fold. That means we’ll see the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the Galaxy Z Wide Fold, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8.

The charging speed of the third one has already been revealed. It’ll support 25W fast charging, as confirmed by China’s 3C certification. As we get closer to launch, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Wide Fold have also been spotted on China’s 3C database, revealing their charging speeds.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Wide Fold may finally get 45W charging boost

Two model numbers, SM-F9710 and SM-F9760, have appeared on the 3C platform. Based on Samsung’s naming convention, these are likely the Chinese variants of the Galaxy Z Wide Fold and the Galaxy Z Fold 8. According to the certification listings, both foldables support charging at up to 15V and 3A, which translates to 45W.

What’s worth noting that is these are wired charging speeds, not wireless. 3C typically lists wired charging specs. In the case of the Galaxy Z Flip 8, charging was capped at 15W, the same as its predecessor. For the Galaxy Z Wide Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 8, however, charging speeds will see a noticeable boost compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which topped out at 25W wired charging.
