Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7 Confirmed by Surprise Galaxy Store Listing

As Samsung’s big Unpacked event approaches, curious details have surfaced online — this time, straight from Samsung itself. A new version of the Samsung Internet Browser has appeared in the Galaxy Store, labeled explicitly for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. While these foldables aren’t official yet, their names and Android version are now all but confirmed, thanks to this oddly public slip-up.
Samsung Internet Browser for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7— a surprise in the Galaxy Store
Spotted by GalaxyClub, this new browser listing is titled “Samsung Internet Browser for Fold7 and Flip7”. It appears alongside another version labeled “Samsung Internet Browser for One UI 8.0 Beta”. At first glance, you might assume Samsung is cooking up a foldable-optimized browser, but a deeper look reveals they’re essentially the same app. Both versions share the same version number (v28.0.2.43), the same file size (171.11 MB), and identical functionality.
Even the Galaxy Store URLs for both versions reveal the connection. The One UI 8 variant’s link is simply a modified version of the foldables’ URL, with a “cid” parameter appended at the end, further confirming that these are just rebranded entries of the same underlying app.
So, why did Samsung list them under different names? Well, nobody knows. These listings are unexpected and offer a rare public peek into Samsung’s pre-launch prep, something that usually stays behind closed doors. Moreover, it’s not clear why the company added a foldable-specific browser version to the Galaxy Store, especially when it behaves identically to the One UI 8 version.
Maybe it’s simply a placeholder, with plans to update it later with foldable-specific enhancements. Samsung could also be using the listing for internal testing or early compatibility labeling. Or perhaps it’s just an early upload that wasn’t supposed to go public yet. While many questions remain unanswered, there are two main takeaways from this amusing discovery.
Foldable names and One UI version confirmed
For one, the entries confirm the names for the upcoming foldables. No surprises — they will be called Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7. There will be no rebranding or Ultra monikers. Moreover, the connection between the two versions suggests the new foldables will debut with Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box. Samsung has already hinted at it, and we now have confirmation.
Samsung will unveil its next foldables at an Unpacked event in July, likely taking place in New York. The event should also bring the Galaxy Z Flip FE, Galaxy Watch 8 series, and possibly new accessories. Until then, keep your eyes on the Galaxy Store — you never know what might leak next.
