After little to no activity in the first couple of weeks, Samsung has started rolling out the November 2025 security update to eligible Galaxy devices in full force. Yesterday, it pushed the update to several Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series flagships. Now, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are picking up this month’s security fixes.

November 2025 security update lands on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5

Samsung typically starts rolling out new security patches in the first week of the month. However, it didn’t quite follow the usual pattern this month. While the November 2025 SMR (Security Maintenance Release) did reach a few devices in the first half of the month, the company didn’t update any recent flagship devices.

The Korean firm finally opened the floodgates this week. It has already released the latest SMR for the Galaxy S25, S24, S23, and S22 flagships, including FE and Edge models. Samsung also updated the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, Fold 6, and Flip 6. This expansion to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 now brings the November 2025 security update to most of Samsung’s eligible premium devices.

As usual, updates are released in batches and may take a while to reach users worldwide. As of this writing, these devices are mostly receiving the November SMR in South Korea and a few other Asian countries. The new firmware build numbers for the Fold 5 and Flip 5 are F946NKSS5FYK3 and F731NKSS5FYK3, respectively.

If you are using either of Samsung’s 2023 foldables, watch out for a notification. You can also manually check for updates from Settings > Software update > Download and install. The latest SMR fixes more than 40 security issues affecting the system, modem, Wi-Fi, and other core components. We will let you know as Samsung rolls out the new update for more Galaxy devices.
