Samsung is continuing its first software rollout of the year, and its latest foldables are now joining the update queue. After releasing the January 2026 security update for the Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A55 last week, the company has expanded the rollout to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7. More models should follow in the coming days.

January 2026 security update now live for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7

The January 2026 security patch has started rolling out to the foldable duo in South Korea. The update carries firmware version AYLT for both models, with the Galaxy Z Flip 7 update weighing in at 425MB. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 should receive a similarly sized package, though build numbers and file sizes may vary across regions.

As expected, this is a security-focused release rather than a feature update. Samsung recently revealed that the January 2026 patch fixes a total of 55 security vulnerabilities across the Galaxy family. These include issues discovered within the Android operating system as well as flaws specific to Samsung’s own software layer.

Security patches like this are essential for protecting personal data, preventing unauthorized access, and maintaining system stability. With the update now underway for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7, Samsung should soon expand the new SMR (Security Maintenance Release) to more devices, including the Galaxy S25 series. Some markets may receive the update sooner than others.

Meanwhile, if you are a Galaxy user, you can check for the update manually by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If an update shows up, you can proceed to download it. Your phone will restart after installation, and the process should only take a few minutes. Stay tuned for further updates.
