Galaxy Z Flip 6, Fold 6 and S24 Await One UI 8 Beta — But It Could Take Time

Samsung officially launched the One UI 8 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series yesterday. Now, users of older models, such as the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the Galaxy S24 series, are eagerly waiting for the beta to arrive on their devices. If history is any indication, the company should expand the beta program to these models. However, much will depend on how smoothly the initial testing goes on the Galaxy S25.

There’s no timeline yet for the One UI 8 beta for other devices

At launch, One UI 8 beta is available for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in South Korea, Germany, the UK, and the US. Samsung may roll out beta programs for the S25 trio in India, Poland, and China in the coming weeks, possibly coinciding with the second beta build in the former four markets. However, when it comes to beta updates for other devices, we do not have any timeline.

If we take One UI 7 beta as an example, it remained exclusive to the Galaxy S24 for several months. In between, Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 flagships with One UI 7 out of the box. Yet it didn’t roll out beta updates for other devices for so long, likely because it hadn’t achieved the desired stability and smoothness. We expect a similar approach from Samsung for One UI 8 beta.

If the initial beta builds quickly hit a certain level of stability, i.e., no major bugs or performance issues are discovered, One UI 8 beta may land on Galaxy Z Flip 6, Fold 6, Galaxy S24, and other devices pretty soon, possibly sometime in June. However, if beta testers report significant issues, Samsung may take time to address those before expanding the beta program to additional devices.

Samsung has already confirmed that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 will ship with One UI 8 out of the box. The new foldables may go official in the first half of July. However, depending on the outcome and progress of this beta testing, we may have to wait until August or later for the stable release for older models. We will keep you posted.
