Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 Grab Samsung’s One UI 8 Update

Samsung can’t stop rolling out One UI 8 updates today. Over the past few hours, the company has released the Android 16-based software for the Galaxy S23 series (including S23 FE), Tab S10 series, Galaxy A55, and Galaxy A35. Now, the update is available for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5. Like other devices, these foldables are initially picking up One UI 8 in South Korea, but a global rollout begins soon.

One UI 8 lands on Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5

Samsung is rushing to deliver One UI 8 to eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets as quickly as possible. The company is already running ahead of schedule and seemingly has no intention to look back. Like the Galaxy A55 and A35, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 were scheduled to receive One UI 8 in October, but Samsung has dropped the update early. Although currently limited to Korea, this paves the way for a global rollout.

As usual, the stable version is initially available for beta testers, with Samsung pushing a sub-500MB OTA package. Users on One UI 7 will receive a much larger update, potentially weighing over 3GB. The new firmware build version for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 is FYI8.

One UI 8 brings a refreshed interface, smarter system apps, and new tools across accessibility, multitasking, Samsung Health, Reminders, and more. While it doesn’t introduce a complete redesign like One UI 7 did, it sharpens the overall experience and lays the foundation for the bigger visual changes expected with One UI 8.5 later this year.
