Samsung’s long-awaited Galaxy XR headset is just days away from its official debut. It will launch through a virtual event on October 21. Ahead of the unveiling, Google has begun listing apps and games for the device on the Play Store. These listings offer an early glimpse at the kind of immersive experiences and interactive content the Galaxy XR will deliver.

Play Store adds apps and games for Samsung’s Galaxy XR

The Galaxy XR runs Android XR, a specialized version of the Android platform co-developed by Google and Samsung. X user @WorkaholicDavid recently spotted a variety of immersive apps and interactive games optimized for extended reality (XR) environments on the Google Play Store. Screenshots posted online show a few titles from different developers.

Samsung previously hinted at advanced software-driven experiences for the Galaxy XR. It plans to focus on real-world use cases such as virtual collaboration, immersive media, and creative AR content that seamlessly integrates with Galaxy devices.

At the core of this vision lies artificial intelligence. Galaxy AI plays a central role across the XR platform, enabling multimodal perception, real-time scene understanding, and intuitive spatial interaction within virtual environments. This AI framework works in tandem with Google’s Gemini and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR processors to deliver context-aware assistance, object recognition, and environmental adaptation.

In essence, Samsung’s approach to XR is AI-powered, immersive, and ecosystem-driven. It reflects a clear shift from traditional hardware-centric development toward intelligent, integrated user experiences. The company appears to be positioning the device directly against Apple’s Vision Pro, possibly undercutting it in price to appeal to consumers.

If you plan to buy, pre-reservations are already live. Show your interest now, and Samsung will give you a $100 credit if you purchase the device. Stay tuned for the official launch early next week.
