Galaxy Watch Classic Has a Bezel Trick That Might Just Amaze You

I think one of Samsung’s most exciting launches of 2025 is the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, which brings back the iconic rotating bezel. That feature alone is probably enough to make someone consider upgrading to the new watch without much thought. Now, it seems the Galaxy Watch Classic smartwatches have a hidden trick, and we are only learning about it now.
This Galaxy Watch Classic 6 bezel trick looks super cool
Reddit user u/ImJonathanLmao shared a fun magic trick showing that the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic responds to bezel turns even when the ring is hovering about a centimeter above the display (via Android Authority). Honestly, it looks really cool. You can check out the video to see exactly what I mean.
What makes the bezel even more interesting is how it works. The secret behind this trick is a Hall sensor that detects changes in magnetic fields. Small metal balls under the bezel create the familiar clicks you feel when you turn it. This makes the bezel feel mechanical even though the movement is actually sensed magnetically.
The magnetic system also explains some quirks users have noticed, like accidental scrolling when the watch is on a magnetic charger. Despite these minor issues, the bezel has proven accurate and responsive across multiple Galaxy Watch generations, including the new Watch 8 Classic.
So, it’s a pretty neat Galaxy Watch Classic perk or magic, however you want to call it. But it’s definitely not recommended to try this on your brand-new Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. Can it do it? Probably. Should you try it at home? Absolutely not, unless you’re willing to spend money on a replacement.
