Galaxy Watch 8 Series Processor Revealed in One UI 8 Watch Leak

Samsung is gearing up for its summer Unpacked event in July, where new foldables and smartwatches will make their debut. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are set to steal the spotlight. If luck’s on our side, we might even see the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE (renders) show up early. Besides these, Samsung will refresh its Galaxy Watch lineup with the Galaxy Watch 8 series. Now, a leaked One UI 8 Watch build may have spilled the beans on the processors inside the Galaxy Watch 8 series.

Galaxy Watch 8 series might miss out on processor upgrade

It’s likely that Samsung will release two variants in the Galaxy Watch 8 series: the Galaxy Watch 8 and the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. Yesterday, we gave you an exclusive look at the upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, which appears to bring back the beloved rotating bezel. Android Authority now reveals that Samsung may not upgrade the processor inside the Galaxy Watch 8 series. That news won’t sit well with those who were hoping for a performance boost.

The current Galaxy Watch 7 series is powered by the Exynos W1000 processor, also known by its part number SC55535AHA. Now, that same processor has popped up again in a new code listing linked to devices with the codenames Fresh 8, Fresh 8 Small, and Wise 8. These names are believed to correspond to the upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, according to the publication.

Since there’s no successor of the Exynos W1000, it makes sense that the same chip would be carried over. While this new information doesn’t break any new ground, it does reinforce what many had already expected. On the bright side, the return of the Classic moniker is great news for a lot of fans. Like, a big lot.
