Galaxy Watch 7 Joins Watch 8 in Getting November 2025 Update

Yesterday, Samsung rolled out the November 2025 security update for the Galaxy Watch 8 series. The latest security fixes are now available for the Galaxy Watch 7. The update should roll out to both the 2024 and 2025 versions of the Galaxy Watch Ultra in the coming days.
Galaxy Watch 7 gets Samsung’s November 2025 security update
Like the Watch 8 series, the latest security update is currently rolling out to Galaxy Watch 7 users in South Korea. The OTA file weighs just over 160MB and carries the firmware build version BYK1. To recall, it’s AYK1 for the Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, with their update weighing just under 180MB.
As usual, Samsung is expected to expand the rollout to more markets over the coming days. If you own a Galaxy Watch 7 or Watch 8 and want to check for the update manually, follow these steps: Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your paired phone, go to Watch settings, tap Watch software update, and select Download and install. Once available, the update will download over the air and apply automatically.
Note that this update doesn’t bring any new features. It focuses solely on security enhancements and platform stabilization, ensuring a smooth user experience. With the Galaxy Watch 7 or Watch 8 done, the November 2025 update should soon be available for the Watch Ultra series. All of these models are currently on One UI 8 Watch, based on Wear OS 6.
Samsung is also in the process of updating other models to One UI 8 Watch. It recently released the stable version for the Watch 6 series, while beta testing is underway for the Watch 5 lineup. While Samsung’s flagship smartphones get monthly security patches, watches usually receive new updates every three months or so. The November release may or may not roll out to older Galaxy watches.
