Galaxy Watch 7 Gets New Kid-Friendly Mode to Keep a Tab on Young Kids

It’s been quite a busy week for Samsung. The company launched the new Galaxy S25 trio, showcased the Galaxy S25 Edge, and gave us our first glimpse of the upcoming “Project Moohan” Android XR device. On top of that, Samsung also announced a new kid-friendly mode for the Galaxy Watch 7.

There’s a new kid-friendly mode on Galaxy Watch 7 LTE

If you have a kid at home, you’re probably going to appreciate this feature even more. As parents, you might want to keep track of your little one’s whereabouts but don’t feel comfortable giving them a phone just yet. Sure, tablets are an option. But they’re not exactly portable for kids to carry around all the time. This is where the Galaxy Watch 7’s new kid-friendly mode steps in. And yes, this feature works exclusively on the LTE version. Currently, it’s available for AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile subscribers in the US. You can grab the Galaxy Watch 7 LTE from Samsung.com or other major retailers.

The feature operates via Google Family Link, giving trusted adults full control over the smartwatch. Parents can manage which apps are accessible and control who can contact the watch via calls or texts. The Galaxy Watch 7 brings a host of parent-focused features, like an emergency SOS mode activated by pressing the side button five times and GPS tracking for real-time location monitoring. It also includes a school mode, designed to limit distractions by disabling specific functions during school hours.

Additionally, the watch offers 20 curated educational apps and kid-friendly watch faces available on Google Play. Setting up the child-focused mode requires just a smartphone, making it super convenient. Unfortunately, older generations of the Galaxy Watch don’t support this feature, and it doesn’t look like they will anytime soon.
