Samsung is still not ready to roll out One UI 8 Watch to the Galaxy Watch 7. While beta testing has been running for two months, the company hasn’t pushed the stable build yet. Instead, it has started rolling out the August 2025 security update to the Watch 7, beginning in South Korea. As with its smartphones, Samsung should gradually expand the update globally in the coming days.

Galaxy Watch 7 grabs a new security update ahead of One UI 8 Watch

The Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra entered the Wear O 6-based One UI 8 Watch Beta program on the same day in late June. However, while the Ultra model received the stable update over a month ago, Samsung has yet to roll out the stable version for the Watch 7. It pushed a new beta build a few weeks ago, and has now followed up with the latest security patch (for those who didn’t participate in the beta program or are not eligible for it).

This new update isnt the major upgrade Galaxy Watch 7 owners have been waiting for, but it does bring important security patches and performance refinements. It is focused on system security enhancements, while also aiming to improve the overall stability of the wearable for smoother everyday performance. If you own a Watch 7, you can check for the new software through the Galaxy Wearable app on your paired smartphone.

Samsung hasn’t specified the reason behind a delayed stable One UI 8 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 7. Meanwhile, it has announced beta programs for older models, likely dropping in September. Hopefully, this won’t push back the Watch 7’s big update. We will let you know when we have more information. For now, users can install the August patch to keep their devices secure and optimized, while waiting for the much-anticipated One UI 8 Watch upgrade.
