Whether the Galaxy Watch 4 would receive the One UI 8 Watch update had been a lingering mystery last month. Thankfully, that question has now been answered. Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Watch 4 series will get the One UI 8 Watch update based on Wear OS 6. And there’s even more good news.

As spotted by regular update tracker Akhilesh Kumar on X, Samsung has begun testing One UI 8 Watch for the Galaxy Watch 4 series. That’s definitely good news for anyone waiting on the Wear OS 6 update.

Although early builds have surfaced and Samsung has confirmed what’s coming, there’s still no official release date. That leaves us wondering when the update will actually arrive. However, if the past is any indication, it could roll out a few weeks after the new Galaxy Watch 8 series hits store shelves.

The Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic will launch with One UI 8 Watch, as Samsung confirmed some time ago and reiterated during Galaxy Unpacked this Wednesday. This will be the final update for the Galaxy Watch 4 series. So now might be a good time to explore upgrade options if you’re interested.
