As spotted by @ya_sking12767 on X, Samsung has begun rolling out the January 2026 security update for the Galaxy Tab S9 series in Korea. This means owners of the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra can now install the latest security patch. The build version in question is X816NKOS5DZA1, and the update is around 427.98 MB.

The January 2026 security update addresses more than 50 vulnerabilities affecting Samsung Galaxy devices. It includes fixes for issues found in the Android platform as well as in Samsung’s own apps and system services. While the update doesn’t add new features, installing it promptly is strongly recommended to stay protected.
For now, the January 2026 security patch is only available for the Galaxy Tab S9 series in Korea. That said, the update should roll out to more countries soon, likely starting with the US in the coming days.
You can install the latest update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the update is downloaded, tap Install now. Your device will restart during the installation and then reboot with the latest security patch applied.
