Galaxy Tab S10 Lite Tipped To Launch Running One UI 8

Even though leaks about the Galaxy Tab S11 series are coming fast these days, there’s something else coming too. The company also plans to launch a budget-friendly tablet, the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite. The device has already shown up in certification listings and Geekbench tests. So it looks like it’s well on its way.
Samsung now testing One UI 8 for the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite
In the latest, Mohammed Khatri and @KeepUPwithOneUI spotted that Samsung has started testing One UI 8 for the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite. Their findings back up earlier reports suggesting that the upcoming budget tablet will arrive in two versions: Wi-Fi and 5G. One UI 8 is already up and running on Samsung’s newest foldables. That means it’s likely that the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite will skip One UI 7 entirely and launch straight with One UI 8. The build version in question is X406BXXU1BYH1. Trials are now underway in South Korea, India, Europe, and Vietnam.

As of now, it’s still unclear how many years of software updates the tablet will receive. But starting off with Android 16-based One UI 8 could give it a leg up in the long run. According to certification listings, the tablet will be powered by the Exynos 1380 chipset — the same one used in several affordable Galaxy phones and the Galaxy Tab S9 FE series. It’s also expected to come with 6GB of RAM, which should be enough for everyday tasks.
Once it finally hits the market (and that should happen soon), the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite is likely to be a more affordable option against the Tab S10 FE. For context, Samsung didn’t release a Galaxy Tab S9 Lite or a Tab S8 Lite. The last “Lite” model was the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, which got a refresh in 2024 but was essentially just a rehash of the 2022 version. So whatever new features Samsung decides to pack into this budget tablet will definitely be worth keeping an eye on.
