Galaxy Tab Active 5 also gets Samsung’s One UI 7 Stable Update

Samsung isn’t slowing down with the One UI 7 rollout. Following the recent updates for the Galaxy A25 and A73, the company has now released One UI 7 for the Galaxy Tab Active 5. The global rollout continues to gain momentum, and more Galaxy devices are expected to receive the update in the coming days.
One UI 7 trickles down to the Galaxy Tab Active 5
It’s been just over a month since Samsung’s One UI 7 rollout hit full throttle. While the update was first released in early April, the company briefly paused it due to bugs. The rollout resumed in mid-April and quickly picked up steam. Having done with flagships, including foldables, Samsung is now rapidly expanding One UI 7 to its budget and mid-range lineups.
As of this writing, the Galaxy Tab Active 5 is getting the Android 15-based update in South Korea, Samsung’s home country — Korean users have been the first to receive One UI 7 for all Galaxy devices. The update carries the firmware build version X306NKOU5BYEB and has an OTA (over the air) download size of approximately 3GB.
That’s a massive OTA size for a software update, and it tells you about the myriad of changes One UI 7 brings. Based on Android 15, it brings a refined user experience with smoother animations, enhanced privacy controls, and improved battery management. The update also introduces better multitasking features and deeper customization options for the home and lock screens.
Besides these goodies, the latest update for the Galaxy Tab Active 5 contains the April 2025 security patch. While some other models received One UI 7 with the May patch, Samsung shipped last month’s patch to this rugged tablet. It’s no big deal though, as the update is primarily about new features and enhancements. The device should receive a newer security patch with a separate update in the coming months.
