Samsung has released a major new update for its Galaxy Store on smartphones and tablets. It brings a much-needed UI revamp that makes navigation cleaner and more intuitive. The update, carrying version 6.6.17.1, introduces a refreshed interface with a new hamburger menu layout and simplified tab structure. The redesigned experience is gradually rolling out to Galaxy devices worldwide.

New Galaxy Store update brings a much-needed UI revamp

The most noticeable change is the new layout. Previously, the Galaxy Store featured four tabs at the bottom — Apps, Games, Exclusives, and Menu. After the update, the Menu tab, housing key options like My Apps and Updates, moves to a new hamburger menu in the top-left corner. Samsung has also added a new Downloading section, where you can find ongoing app downloads and updates.

Additionally, the hamburger menu includes a shortcut to the Samsung Account, which can already be accessed through settings. Your profile avatar appears next to the Settings icon at the top. The Exclusives tab has been renamed to My Galaxy. The rest of the interface remains unchanged. Nonetheless, the new layout looks more consistent with other Samsung apps, making it easier for users to find updates and manage app installations.

This redesign creates a cleaner, more modern interface and declutters the bottom navigation bar, aligning with Samsung’s ongoing design refinements in One UI 8.5. It also gives the Galaxy Store a more unified aesthetic, matching the company’s goal of delivering smoother, more intuitive app experiences across its ecosystem. We may see further refinements in the build-up to the official launch of One UI 8.5 early next year.

The latest update for Galaxy Store appears to be rolling out in phases (via X/tarunvats33), so it may take a while before all Galaxy users receive version 6.6.17.1. Once available, you should see a prompt to install the new version when launching the Store.
