We first saw the new Galaxy S26 series wallpapers months ago in early One UI 8.5 builds. At the time, they were just image files. They looked interesting and even hinted at the colors the S26 series might come in. The only problem? They were static. Now, we finally get to see how they actually work thanks to Galaxy S26’s leaked interactive wallpapers.

Here’s how Galaxy S26’s interactive wallpapers actually work

Thanks to Project Chiper from Telegram, we can now see how the Galaxy S26’s interactive wallpapers actually work. In the video, the lock screen editing page clearly shows an “Interactive” label, confirming that Samsung isn’t treating this as just another animated background.

The effect is controlled and subtle. It reacts on the lock screen when you touch the display or unlock the phone, then switches to a static version on the home screen. That keeps things clean and avoids unnecessary animation once you’re in the UI.

It’s a small feature, but it adds personality from the first interaction. What do you think about these wallpapers? Do you like them? Personally, I’m sold on the purple one.

Big thanks to Project Chiper!
