Galaxy S26 Ultra Will Support 60W Fast Charging, Firmware Confirms

Here we go again. The chapter has turned, and now the focus is on what the Galaxy S26 series will bring. The rumor mill is already churning, much of it fueled by the leaked One UI 8.5 firmware, which may have spoiled… hyped up the Galaxy Unpacked 2025.
Galaxy S26 Ultra will get 60W fast charging boost
Here’s a recap in case you missed it: the Galaxy S26 series will include the S26 Pro, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra. The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset is expected to power the S26 Ultra, as anticipated. Now, confirming previous rumors, the One UI 8.5 firmware leak has also revealed that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will support 60W fast charging. That will mark a notable upgrade from its predecessor.

A few days ago, Ice Universe suggested that Samsung could introduce “enhanced fast charging.” At the time, the trusted leaker didn’t provide details, until yesterday, when he shared that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will support 60W fast charging. This has now been confirmed, if the firmware’s code strings are anything to go by.
Currently, the Galaxy S25 Ultra supports 45W fast charging. In our tests, it charges from 0 to 100 percent in 59 minutes and a few seconds, to be exact. With the Galaxy S26 Ultra supporting 60W fast charging, we can expect noticeable improvements in charging speed. This will be a welcome change for users who rely heavily on their devices throughout the day.
Notably, Ice Universe has suggested that Samsung won’t increase the battery capacity (mAh) in the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Meanwhile, another tipster claims the Galaxy S26 Ultra could pack a 5,500mAh battery. However, it is more likely that Samsung will stick with the 5,000mAh capacity for a simple reason: logistics. Lithium batteries above a certain capacity or energy density require special handling, packaging, and certification when shipped by air, which complicates production and distribution.
