The Galaxy S26 Ultra comes with several meaningful upgrades

The first thing you will see about the Galaxy S26 Ultra is its revamped design. The corners are more rounded, and the rear camera module comes in a new pill-shaped layout. Moreover, the phone is slimmer and lighter than its predecessor, measuring 7.9mm thick and weighing 214 g. The S Pen remains built into the phone, making tasks like note-taking easier.

You get a massive 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 2,600 nits of peak brightness. One of the most impressive features is the Privacy Display that limits side-angle visibility to protect your information from prying eyes. Likewise, an anti-reflective coating reduces glare. However, there’s no titanium frame this year. Samsung has returned to Armor aluminum, claiming the strongest grade it has ever used.

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The 5,000 mAh battery supports 60W wired and 25W wireless charging. So, we get faster charging than the 45W wired and 15W wireless speeds on the S25 Ultra.

In the camera department, the Galaxy S26 Ultra features a 200MP main sensor with a wider aperture (f/1.4) than its predecessor (f/1.7). Other rear units are a 50MP periscope telephoto unit, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens. We get a 12MP front camera that sits within the hole punch for selfies and video calls.

Promises longer software support

Samsung has pre-installed its latest Android 16-based One UI 8.5 for an improved Galaxy experience. Seven generations of OS upgrades and security updates make it a long-lasting investment. You can pick from six color options for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The standard options are Cobalt Violet, Sky Blue, White, and  Black, while online-exclusive choices are Silver Shadow and Pink Gold. The device comes with a starting price tag of $1,299 in the US.
