Samsung appears confident that demand for its next Ultra flagship will remain strong, even as costs rise and a potential price hike looms. New industry reports suggest the company has significantly increased early production of the Galaxy S26 Ultra ahead of its official debut on Wednesday, February 25. The new Ultra is expected to sell more than its predecessor.

Samsung reportedly increases Galaxy S26 Ultra’s early production volume

According to an ETNews report, Samsung has raised the initial production volume of the Galaxy S26 Ultra by roughly one million units. Early plans reportedly targeted production in the high-two-million range. However, that figure has now been revised upward to the mid-to-high three-million range for the first two months alone, a 50% increase.

That’s a notable vote of confidence, especially given the broader uncertainty surrounding smartphone demand and pricing in 2026. Notably, Samsung hasn’t increased the total lifetime production target for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Instead, the company is shifting more volume to the early phase of the launch cycle. It could be a strategic move to tap into potential early demand, as more people might buy new phones early in the year amid price uncertainty.

Samsung typically produces around 30 million Galaxy S-series phones annually, spread across the standard, Plus, and Ultra variants. The Ultra model continues to dominate that mix. Estimates indicate the Ultra accounts for roughly 18 million units, or nearly 60% of total Galaxy S-series output. That dominance explains why Samsung is prioritizing the S26 Ultra when adjusting early production plans.

Even with potential pricing pressure, Samsung appears confident that its most premium model will continue to carry the lineup. Especially during the early launch window when demand is traditionally strongest. The Galaxy S26 Ultra will debut on February 25 alongside the base S26 and S26+. Pre-orders should begin on the same day, followed by general sales a couple of weeks later. We should have an insight into early sales figures by mid-March.
