Galaxy S26 Ultra’s Camera Bump is Nearly Twice As Thick As S25 Ultra’s

Samsung is bringing back a prominent camera bump with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, and for good reason. To fit upgraded camera hardware into a slimmer body, the company has had to extend the module further out. A reliable tipster reveals that the S26 Ultra’s cameras will protrude almost twice as much as those on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Galaxy S26 Ultra has a massive camera bump
According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s camera bump will measure 4.5mm, nearly double the 2.4mm rings found on the S25 Ultra. The change is reportedly tied to new and enhanced camera sensors. The upcoming model is expected to feature larger camera apertures and an upgraded 3x zoom lens with a 12MP sensor.
While these upgrades will almost surely improve low-light performance and overall image quality, users must deal with a bulky camera module. Based on leaks, the S26 Ultra will have a body thickness of 7.9mm, down from the current model’s 8.2mm profile. However, the cameras now not only sit within a base, but also protrude further out from the body.
Ice Universe also confirmed that the upcoming Ultra flagship will weigh 217 grams, 1 gram lighter than the S25 Ultra. Despite a slimmer and lighter design, the device keeps a 5,000mAh battery, now with 60W charging, if early rumors hold. The Galaxy S26 Ultra will also continue the shift away from the sharp, boxy design of older Ultras, now featuring more rounded corners and edges.
The Galaxy S26 series will go official in early 2026, with the S26 Pro and S26 Edge completing the trio. More leaks should surface in the coming months.
