Despite a flood of leaks, much about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series remains uncertain. The company’s last-minute lineup tweaks have fueled confusion in the rumor mill — and the launch date has been no exception. Over the past few weeks, two conflicting timelines have surfaced. Now, a new report suggests Samsung has settled on the original plan, with the launch set for February 25, 2026.

New report confirms Galaxy S26 launch set for February 2026

Earlier this month, reports floated that Samsung will hold its next Unpacked event on February 25, 2026, in San Francisco to unveil the Galaxy S26 series. This was followed by a comment from a company official suggesting a delayed launch due to some unplanned changes in the development process.

To recall, Samsung abruptly halted the development of the Galaxy S26 Edge last month and revived the Galaxy S26+ from the dead. It also decided to drop the Pro branding from the base model, simply calling it Galaxy S26. Considering all this, a one-month delay in the official launch made sense. The new flagships looked set for a February 25 unveiling, followed by market release in March.

However, a new report earlier this week claimed Samsung has addressed those developmental challenges and is now on track to launch the Galaxy S26 series on time in January. Just as the word spread, a fresh report from Etnews suggests otherwise. It says the launch is still set for February 25, 2026. These contrasting reports sum up the whole situation around the Galaxy S26 series.

While plenty has already been revealed, there’s still confusion around the camera specs. Meanwhile, Samsung seems to have finalized the chip strategy for the new flagships. The Galaxy S26 Ultra looks set to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 globally. The Galaxy S26 and S26+, meanwhile, could feature Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 in some regions, including Korea.
