Galaxy S26 Brings Major Audio Eraser Upgrade with Third-Party App Support

Audio Eraser is one of the most powerful AI features on Samsung phones, and it gets a big upgrade on the Galaxy S26 series. The new flagships, which run One UI 8.5 out of the box, support Audio Eraser across third-party apps. You can filter out noise from videos during livestream playback, in real time.

Audio Eraser now works on third-party apps

Introduced with One UI 7 on the Galaxy S25 series last year, Audio Eraser allows you to improve the audio clarity in recorded videos. You can filter out different types of sounds from videos, including wind, noise, traffic, and more. In the Gallery app, Samsung lets you apply the effects in real time while watching a video. You can even save a copy of the video with filtered audio.

With One UI 8.5 on the Galaxy S26 series, Audio Eraser works similarly across several third-party apps, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Netflix. It’s no longer limited to saved videos on your device. If you are watching videos on any of these apps, you can access Audio Eraser from the Quick Panel. You don’t need to exit the app to enable it and filter out unwanted noise from videos.

This shift transforms Audio Eraser from a post-production editing tool into an everyday viewing enhancement feature. Whether you’re watching a creator stream from a noisy environment or tuning into a live event with inconsistent audio quality, the feature can now help clean up the sound instantly. You get a fully customizable experience with voice focus mode to amplify specific voices.

While Samsung hasn’t confirmed it, this upgraded Audio Eraser may roll out to some existing Galaxy flagships with the One UI 8.5 update. Currently in beta, the new version is expected to hit the stable channel in March.
