Samsung may not upgrade the Galaxy S25 Ultra to M14 OLED technology, but the new flagship could still offer significant display enhancements. Rumors have hinted at improvements in color accuracy and sharpness. A fresh leak reiterates those claims, adding that the device will feature ProScaler display technology.
Galaxy S25 Ultra offers sharper and brighter visuals thanks to ProScaler display
Reputed Samsung leaker Ice Universe recently posted a seemingly official promo image for the Galaxy S25 Ultra highlighting a new display technology. “Your images, cleaner than ever,” the promo material says, adding that “images feel lifelike thanks to a brilliant display with ProScaler.” Samsung further states that this technology delivers “sharper visuals and brighter colors,” making details pop.
According to the tipster, this is a Samsung-unique technology. When the screen resolution is set to maximum, i.e., QHD+, you get noticeable improvements in the sharpness and vibrancy of colors. This is despite the Galaxy S25 Ultra offering the same maximum display brightness of 2,600nits as the S24 Ultra.
Rumors suggest the upcoming phone retains its predecessor’s M13 OLED technology but with some refinements. Samsung’s display division has already supplied M14 OLEDs to several firms, including Apple and Google. However, its smartphone unit decided to stick with the previous-gen displays and improve them rather than upgrade to the latest solutions.
Alongside brightness and color boosts, M14 OLEDs also offer an enhanced display lifespan. Nonetheless, the Galaxy S25 Ultra looks set for some notable display improvements. The device goes official on Wednesday, January 22. It will be accompanied by the Galaxy S25 and S25+, though it’s unclear if Samsung will offer the ProScaler display technology on the latter two.
