Galaxy S25’s June 2025 Update Reaches More Markets, One UI 8 Beta 2 Looms

Samsung has begun a global rollout of its June 2025 update for the Galaxy S25 series. Following an initial release in Korea earlier this week, the company is now pushing the latest security patch to users in Europe and other parts of Asia. It should soon reach the rest of the world, including the US.
The update carries firmware version S93*BXXS4AYF2 for users in India and S93*BXXS4AYF1 in Europe. Alongside this month’s security fixes, the June update for the Galaxy S25 lineup introduces a bootloader upgrade, which hints at an imminent One UI 8 Beta 2 release.
More Galaxy S25 users get the June 2025 update ahead of One UI 8 beta
Last month, Samsung kicked off One UI 8 beta testing for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. However, the first beta build is only available in Korea, Germany, the UK, and the US. The company is expected to expand the beta program to at least India, Poland, and China with the release of Beta 2 — the June security update for users running One UI 7 hints at this possibility.
As said earlier, this month’s security update for the Galaxy S25 trio brings a new bootloader version (4). This is the same version that the new One UI 8 beta builds carry. A matching bootloader is essential for users who may want to revert to an older firmware, such as rolling back from One UI 8 beta to One UI 7. By updating the bootloader now, Samsung is preparing the phones for that possibility, ensuring users won’t encounter issues if they choose to downgrade after trying the beta.
Apart from the bootloader update, the June SMR (Security Maintenance Release) for the Galaxy S25 series addresses over 60 vulnerabilities. Samsung has already pushed these security fixes to a bunch of other devices, with more to follow soon. If you use a Galaxy smartphone or tablet, keep an eye out for a notification about a new software update in the coming days.
