Galaxy S25 FE Gets a Bigger Vapor Chamber to Tackle Exynos Heating Issues

Samsung just launched its new Fan Edition phone, the Galaxy S25 FE. Powered by the Exynos 2400, the device balances flagship-grade features with a more accessible price point. It arrives with a thinner and lighter body, an improved selfie camera, a bigger battery, and faster charging. But the question many fans are asking is: how well can it handle sustained performance? After all, Exynos chips have long carried a reputation for running hot.

Galaxy S25 FE has a larger cooling system for better thermal control

The Galaxy S25 FE is powered by the same Exynos 2400 chipset Samsung used in the Galaxy S24 and S24+ in some regions. While it offers solid performance on paper, it has drawn criticism for overheating under heavy workloads. To address this, Samsung has equipped the new FE phone with a 13% larger vapor chamber cooling system. The chamber uses liquid thermal material to move heat away from the CPU and GPU more efficiently.

In theory, this should help the Galaxy S25 FE sustain performance for longer periods without severe throttling, a key improvement over the Galaxy S24 FE, which had a smaller cooling setup. We’d know for sure only after a good few days of regular usage. For most users, this shouldn’t be a major concern as the Exynos 2400 handles everyday tasks with ease. The chip features a 10-core CPU configuration, led by a prime core clocked at 3.2GHz.

When pushed to the limits, any processor would heat up. This is where the cooling mechanisms come into play. A vapor chamber cooling system relies on heat pipes and liquid inside a sealed chamber. The liquid turns into vapor and travels to cooler areas of the chamber. There, it condenses back into liquid, releasing the heat, which then dissipates through the phone’s body. This cycle repeats continuously, keeping the chipset’s temperature in check.

Today, most flagship and gaming phones use vapor chambers, but Samsung’s decision to expand the Galaxy S25 FE’s chamber size signals a direct response to feedback around thermal issues. Hopefully, the improved cooling system will be enough to keep the Exynos 2400’s heat in check during extended gaming or video recording sessions. The new FE phone is available from Samsung’s website, starting at $649.
