Samsung will soon launch a new flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S25 Edge. Expected to go official on May 13, this model sits between the S25+ and S25 Ultra in the pecking order. Ahead of that, the new slim flagship continues to attract attention as leaks steadily reveal more details. Today, we have solid scoop about its front-facing camera. The Galaxy S25 Edge will seemingly feature the same selfie camera as the rest of the S25 lineup.

Galaxy S25 Edge to feature 12MP selfie camera and 200MP main sensor
The upcoming Samsung flagship is more about slimness than anything else. We are looking at a 5.8mm body, slimmer than any smartphone the Korean firm has ever made. A sleek body comes with a few compromises, like a missing zoom camera, a smaller battery, and potentially a weaker cooling system. However, Samsung appears to have more than made up for these shortcomings in other areas.
For example, the Galaxy S25 Edge looks set to feature a 200MP primary camera, likely the same one as the S25 Ultra. This should mean near-lossless digital zoom photos up to 3x or 4x magnification. The phone also gets the same Snapdragon 8 Elite “For Galaxy” chipset as the other S25 models, paired with 12GB of RAM. This ensures top-tier performance, though Samsung may rely on throttling to keep the temperature in check.
We now also have confirmation that the Galaxy S25 Edge will sport a 12MP selfie camera. We spotted the details on a regulatory website, with the listing revealing a 1/3.2-inch sensor. The Galaxy S25 Ultra and its siblings also feature a 1/3.2-inch 12MP selfie shooter, so it might be the same sensor. This should mean flagship-grade selfie photos and videos.
There have been rumors suggesting that Samsung might equip the Galaxy S25 Edge with a 10MP selfie camera. However, the information we have indicates that the company has ordered 12MP front-facing sensors for the device. Meanwhile, it remains unclear whether the ultrawide camera will feature a 12MP or 50MP sensor. That said, this 1/3.2-inch sensor doesn’t appear to be intended for the ultrawide camera. More details should emerge soon.
