Galaxy S25 Edge to Debut in May with Limited Market Availability

Samsung fans eager to get their hands on the upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge will have to wait a little longer. Originally rumored to launch on April 16, the company has postponed the launch to May, with a new expected release date of May 13. Even then, it may not be a global release, as trusted tipster Ice Universe reveals.

Galaxy S25 Edge to see a limited release in May

According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy S25 Edge will be available for purchase in late May. This means Samsung will unveil the phone on May 13 (if the rumored date is accurate) and likely open pre-orders immediately or a few days later. It will then start general sales later in the month. That’s not the full story, though.

The tipster adds that the Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung’s slimmest smartphone yet (5.84mm thick), will be initially available in South Korea and China. Last year, the company limited the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which is also its slimmest foldable yet, to these two markets. While the Fold SE never arrived in other markets, that may not be the case with the S25 Edge.

That’s because there’s enough evidence of Samsung readying the slim flagship for a global release. The last-minute shift in its launch date suggests supply chain adjustments and other strategic decisions to refine launch timing. Perhaps the US tariffs forced the company to rethink the pricing structure, thus postponing the launch.

However, as things stand, the Galaxy S25 Edge looks set for a wider release, albeit a little delayed. It may not be available as widely as the rest of the S25 lineup, but Samsung shouldn’t limit it to just Korea and China. With just over a month to go, we’re likely to hear more details soon.
