After some initial excitement, Samsung’s upcoming slim flagship, the Galaxy S25 Edge, is starting to seem less impressive. It allegedly lacks a “dream” camera setup and may only launch in select markets. Adding to the disappointment, there may not be many color choices either. In fact, a new rumor claims Samsung is currently developing just one color variant for the S25 Edge.
Samsung may not launch the Galaxy S25 Edge in many colors
The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be the official name for Samsung’s widely rumored slim flagship, previously known as the Galaxy S25 Slim. The company teased the device at Unpacked last month, showing off a prototype to reveal its design. The phone has only two cameras on the back, rather than three as early rumors claimed.
While the rumored 200MP primary shooter borrowed from the Galaxy S25 Ultra may remain intact, Samsung may not offer a zoom camera on the Edge. The other camera on the back is reportedly an ultrawide lens, which uses the same 12MP sensor as the S25 and S25+. The Korean firm upgraded the S25 Ultra to a 50MP ultrawide lens this year but seemingly doesn’t plan to offer this upgrade on the slim model.
This is already a massive letdown, but it only gets worse. Rumors suggest Samsung doesn’t plan to launch the Galaxy S25 Edge globally. Several major markets, including the US, China, and South Korea, might miss out on this phone. We still have doubts over the authenticity of this claim, but the disappointments do not stop here.
According to X user @PandaFlashPro, Samsung is currently developing the Galaxy S25 Edge in only one color variant. They didn’t specify the color but if true, this could also mean limited availability. Remember how the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which is exclusive to China and Korea, comes only in Black. We really hope Samsung doesn’t do the same with the S25 Edge. Stick around for more.
