Samsung’s ultra-slim flagship, the Galaxy S25 Edge, is now official. Beyond the slim form factor, the phone aims to deliver a premium experience with a powerful processor and Galaxy AI features. All thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and the latest RAM and storage standards.
What chipset powers the Galaxy S25 Edge?
The “Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy” chipset powers the Galaxy S25 Edge, the same chipset as other Galaxy S25 models. For the uninitiated, Qualcomm teamed up with Samsung to introduce a customized version of its flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chip for the Galaxy S25 series.
The standard Snapdragon 8 Elite is already capable of delivering high performance, and the customized version of the chip further enhances its performance. The processor is built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm (N3P) process and can reach maximum clock speeds up to 4.47GHz.
What are the RAM and storage options for the Galaxy S25 Edge?
The Galaxy S25 Edge offers 12GB of RAM and two storage options: 256GB and 512GB. Unfortunately, Samsung did not introduce a 1TB storage option for the S25 Edge. This higher storage capacity is only available in the Ultra model. However, for most users, 512GB is enough, allowing users a lot of space for photos, videos, and other files.
The best thing is that the Galaxy S25 Edge uses LPDDR5X RAM, which is faster and more energy-efficient than the previous generation (LPDDR5). On top of that, it uses UFS 4.0 storage technology, offering significant performance improvements over its predecessor, UFS 3.1.
