Samsung has started rolling out the July 2025 security update for the Galaxy S25 in the US. The update is currently available for carrier-locked units on AT&T with the build version AYE7. and should expand to unlocked models and other carriers in the coming days. The latest flagships have already picked up this month’s security patch in several international markets.

Galaxy S25’s July 2025 update hits US carrier units

Initially released in South Korea earlier this month, the July SMR (Security Maintenance Release) for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra gradually expanded to more global markets this week. It is now available for carrier units in the US. The update focuses on system security and stability, patching numerous vulnerabilities in Android and One UI.

This month’s security release addresses issues related to Samsung Knox, Galaxy Watch interface, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi passwords, and many more critical components. In total, the July SMR contains 40 vulnerability fixes. Samsung has already released the update for a bunch of other devices alongside the Galaxy S25 trio, including the Galaxy S24, S23, and S22 series.

The Galaxy S25’s July 2025 update expands to the US amid growing speculation that Samsung may launch One UI 8 Beta 4 soon. It may be the final beta release before the stable rollout next month. The company hasn’t officially confirmed anything, though. It may or may not release more beta updates for the S25 lineup. Moreover, we are still awaiting an official word on the stable release timeline.

It’s worth noting that this security release is only available for Galaxy S25 units running One UI 7, not One UI 8 beta, which is available in the US, the UK, India, Germany, Poland, and South Korea. This is another indication that Samsung is gearing up for a fresh update for beta users, either Beta 4 or the stable build. We will keep you posted.
