Samsung’s One UI 8.5 has yet to reach the stable channel for older Galaxy devices. The company continues to expand its beta program, bringing software testing to more smartphones. The Fan Edition models, including the Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy S25 FE, are now part of the program. While the first beta update is currently hitting markets like India, it should soon reach other regions, including the US.

Samsung’s Fan Edition models now get a taste of the beta

Historically, Samsung has not offered beta access to its major software for the Fan Edition devices. These models receive a stable public version directly. However, with One UI 8.5, the company has changed this long-standing practice, likely to gather feedback from a wider user base.

Samsung is pushing its first One UI 8.5 beta update for the Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy S25 FE. The former carries firmware version ZZCD (OTA size over 4.1GB), while the latter is receiving build ZZCE (OTA size over 3.5GB). They also bring the March 2026 patch, which includes a fresh batch of security improvements.

If you own either of these models, you can now install One UI 8.5 through the beta program. To do so, you will first need to open the Samsung Members app. There, you should see a beta banner that will direct you to register for the program. Now navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once complete, hit Install Now to enjoy the new software. Note that you will need a Samsung account to participate.

Since this is the first build, you may experience bugs or crashes during regular use. The company may polish the software by pushing subsequent beta builds in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the regular Galaxy S24 trio and S25 trio also picked up the beta build today, though it is the first for the former and the eighth for the latter.
