Galaxy S21 FE, Fold 4, Flip 4, A36, and More Get Samsung’s July 2025 Update

Recently, Samsung released its July 2025 security update for a bunch of Galaxy smartphones. The latest security patch is now rolling out to the Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy A36, Galaxy A35, and Galaxy XCover 7 Pro in various parts of the world. The company previously updated several other models, including all recent Galaxy S flagships and Galaxy Z foldables.

Samsung’s July 2025 security update hits more Galaxy devices

The July 2025 security patch, aka SMR (Security Maintenance Release) addresses 40 vulnerabilities across the Galaxy family, improving system security and stability. It strengthens protections for user data and files by patching loopholes discovered in various system services, including core Android OS components and One UI services. These patches make your Galaxy device more secure.

Samsung started updating eligible Galaxy devices to the July SMR early in the month. As mentioned, it has already updated all recent flagship devices. The update has also hit a few budget and mid-range models. The Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy A36, Galaxy A35, and Galaxy XCover 7 Pro now join the ever-growing list.

If you are using any of these devices, the July 2025 security patch should be available for you soon. Since Samsung doesn’t release new updates for Galaxy devices simultaneously in all markets, users in some regions may have to wait longer than others. However, the update will surely come at some point.

If not, you can also manually check for updates. Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install to see if you have a pending update.
