Galaxy M55, A26, A07, A04s Grab December 2025 Security Patch

Samsung has been rolling out the December 2025 security patch for eligible Galaxy devices over the past few weeks. The company has now expanded the update to more budget and mid-range models. The Galaxy M55, Galaxy A26, Galaxy A07, and Galaxy A04s are the latest devices to receive this month’s security update.

December 2025 security patch reaches more affordable Galaxy devices

The Galaxy M55 started receiving the December 2025 security patch yesterday. The update is live in regions such as India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. It carries the firmware version M556BXXS4CYL1 and has an installation size of around 430MB. The December 2025 patch fixes about 68 security vulnerabilities identified by Samsung, Google, and their partners. It does not bring any major new features, but it improves the overall security and stability of the device.

The Galaxy A26 has also joined the December 2025 update list. The update is currently rolling out in regions like Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and the UAE. It comes with the firmware version A266BXXS6BYL1 and should expand to more regions soon.

Additionally, Samsung has pushed the December 2025 security patch to the newly launched Galaxy A07. This becomes the third update for the device since its release. The update is live in markets such as Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam, and it carries the build number A075FXXS2BYL1.

Last but not least, the older Galaxy A04s has received the December 2025 patch as well. The update is currently available in Malaysia and Vietnam with firmware version A047FXXSDEYL1. Among these devices, the Galaxy A04s is the only one running Android 14, as it has reached the end of its Android OS upgrade cycle.

Samsung plans to launch the stable One UI 8.5 update alongside the Galaxy S26 series early next year. It is based on Android 16 QPR2 and should roll out to eligible models like the Galaxy M55, A26, and A07 during the first half of next year.
