Samsung has announced an interesting new update for Galaxy Enhance-X, adopting a Good Lock-style approach. The AI-powered photo and video editing app now lets users download only the features they need and remove the ones they don’t, similar to how Good Lock modules function. The new version will first roll out for the Galaxy S25 series and gradually expand to other models alongside the One UI 7.0 update.
You can now separately download Galaxy Enhance-X features
Galaxy Enhance-X is an advanced photo and video editing app made by Samsung. It offers a bunch of AI-powered features not available on the stock editing apps, allowing Galaxy users to fine-tune their photos and videos in a breeze. With the upcoming update, Samsung is making Galaxy Enhance-X more personal, letting users keep only the features they use.
The company introduced a new “downloadable functions” menu where you find various modules you can download separately. Currently, Camera Shift and Sky Guide are available as downloadable modules. As the name suggests, the former lets you virtually adjust the camera angle to improve the composition of your photo. Sky Guide, meanwhile, tells you the position of various stars and constellations in the night sky.
Samsung says it will soon launch more Galaxy Enhance-X features as downloadable modules. Anything you download separately through the new function can also be removed from the app, freeing up storage space on your phone. Some core features might remain built-in though.
The Galaxy S25 series will first receive this Galaxy Enhance-X update. Interestingly, the app is currently missing on the new Samsung flagships — you can’t download it from the Galaxy Store. The new version will also be available for the Galaxy S21 and newer, Galaxy Z Fold 3 and newer, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and newer, and Galaxy Tab S8 and newer models following the One UI 7.0 update.
